A Letter from Rev.
Joseph K. Kalladan, Pastor
Sunday Bulletin - August 26,
2007
Dear Parishioner,
Some of you may have already seen our updated parish WEB
PAGE:
www.stthomasaquinas.info. It is exciting to see that a
very dedicated team, under the able direction of the
webmaster, Marta Alves, and the generous cooperation of
Joanne Schmidt, associate webmaster, is committed to keep it
updated with the current information of the parish
committees, activities, ministries, devotions, etc. as well
as the weekly bulletins. They have spent a great amount of
time and energy to give a new look to our web page. St.
Thomas Aquinas is deeply grateful to Marta and the team for
their hard work. It needs to be noted that Ken Smith had
done a great job of creating our web page a couple of years
back. With his very busy job schedule, it was not possible
for him to keep it updated. We thank Ken for the wonderful
work he did and his continuing assistance with the technical
support.
We all live in an age when high tech, especially mass media
communication, has taken a quantum leap beyond any
imagination of our ancestors. It is very important that St.
Thomas Aquinas keeps apace, like most other churches, in the
utilization of this modern means of communication. So much
information is disseminated through them at minimum cost.
When I was at St. Joseph Church, New Waverly, one of the new
converts who had some expertise in the field, accepted the
ministry of working on a parish web page and he did create a
very beautiful one for that church. As pastor of St. Thomas
Aquinas, it was one of my long cherished dreams to have a
current web page that reflects our parish and its ministries
so that easy information is available to people that we will
never know or meet.
We must never forget that Jesus, before his physical
departure from us, has commanded us to “proclaim and witness
to the Good News of the Gospel”. This is a responsibility
that He expects each of us to fulfill, utilizing whatever
means that we have at our disposal. The question that we
could all ask ourselves might be: “Is Jesus pleased with me
in the way I live, proclaim, and witness to His Gospel?”
Let us pray for each other that we all may be better
witnesses of Christ and the Good News he has entrusted to
us.
With love,
Fr. K.K.
