Devotions
Eucharistic
Adoration “…Can you not watch an hours with Me?...”
The parish has Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament in the Eucharistic Chapel on Monday through Friday
after 8:00 a.m. mass till 10:00 p.m. Parishioners who commit
themselves to one hour a week with Jesus in the Eucharist
have found that hour to be a very spirit-filled experience.
Yes, to be with Our Lord in the Eucharist cannot but be a
rewarding experience. They do look forward to this their
weekly special hour with the Lord. Every parishioner is
encouraged to sign up for an hour of adoration.
First Fridays
First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart has been
entrenched into the devotional life of the Catholic Church
for centuries. Every First Friday of the month a special
Mass of the Sacred Heart with the anointing of the sick is
celebrated starting with 7:00 p.m. public adoration and Mass
with the Anointing of the Sick at 7:30 pm Prayer shawls are
blessed after Mass. Individual prayer teams are available
after Mass to pray for special needs. The Sacrament of
Confession is available one hour before Mass in the
Sanctuary.
Divine Mercy
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed in the Eucharistic
Chapel Monday through Friday after morning Mass and the
Rosary. Prayers for the conversion of sinners, those who
will die that day, the Holy Souls in Purgatory, and special
intentions are offered. A novena begins on Good Friday at
3:00 p.m.—the Hour of Mercy-- and continues each afternoon
through the vigil of Divine Mercy Sunday. The image of
Divine Mercy is venerated at all Masses on Divine Mercy
Sunday, the week after Easter. The devotion follows Jesus
Christ’s revelation to St. Faustina in 1931 that God’s
greatest attribute is His Mercy, and we must trust in Him.
Rosary
The Rosary is prayed in the Eucharistic Chapel Monday
through Friday after morning Mass. Prayers for the parish
and personal intentions, respect for life and vocations are
offered.
Enthronement of the Sacred
Heart
Parish families are encouraged to have the traditional
enthronement and consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
A picture and certificate suitable for framing are
available. The Pastor is also available to come to the home
of parishioners for the Enthronement. Please call the pastor
at the office to make an appointment.
Prayer Bowl
Jesus said, “…Pray without ceasing…” Prayer – a conversation
with God is an ongoing vital part of our relationship with
God. A prayer bowl for prayer requests is available in the
gathering area of the church and the Eucharistic Chapel. The
community prays for these intentions at each Mass during the
week. These intentions are included while the community
prays the rosary each day after Mass during the week. A
special Mass for these prayer petitions will be celebrated
during the last week of each month. All are requested to
continue praying for these needs.
