Parish Committees
Evangelization
Committee
The Evangelization Committee of
St. Thomas Aquinas seeks to awaken in all parish members the
call to evangelize. The committee desires to challenge all
parish members to invite others outside the parish to hear
the message of salvation in Jesus Christ so they may come to
join us in the fullness of the Catholic faith. The committee
hopes to promote through faithful discipleship the gospel
values in our society and calls all parish members to be
ministers of welcome, reconciliation, and understanding to
those who have stopped practicing the faith.
Property
Maintenance Committee
The PMC was formed to assist
the staff in maintaining the buildings and grounds. The
committee also directs the parish workdays. Volunteers are
needed both to work on parish workdays as well as to serve
on the committee.
STA Fundraising
Committee
STA…growing for the future –
has been blessed to procure the adjacent property. This
active fundraising committee has been working with great
zeal and dedication to meet the debt payments. They are
working on behalf of the parish and will be approaching
every parishioner for their input and support.
Stewardship
Committee
The scriptures consistently
emphasize the need to be God’s faithful stewards of time,
talent and treasure. Christian stewards recognize God as the
origin of life and the source of all they have, all they
are, and all they will be. They are grateful for what they
have received and eager to cultivate and share their gifts
out of love for God and one another. This committee consists
of individuals who are interested in helping our
parishioners grow in an understanding of this spiritual and
biblically based concept and making stewardship a way of
life for each member of our parish.
Vocations Committee
Jesus said, “The harvest is
great, while the laborers are few.” The vocations
committee’s goal is to foster and promote vocations to the
priesthood and religious life and to help in the discernment
process of those individuals who feel they may have a
calling. The committee also affirms existing religious
vocations.
Welcoming Committee
Making the transition to a new
parish family is made easier for newcomers when caring
members of the community reach out with open arms to welcome
them. The Committee introduces newcomers to all that St.
Thomas Aquinas has to offer, invites them to participate in
ministry, and directs them to the proper sources in
addressing any needs. The Committee periodically sponsors
get-togethers of new parishioners following designated
Masses.
